National City Kitchen Remodeling and Bathroom Remodeling

National City is the one of the oldest cities in San Diego County, building began in 1868. National City was originally home to the Kumeyaay tribe who thrived in what is now San Diego County for many generations until the Spaniards came along and drove them away. A tribe of rich history and San Diego heritage, many Kumeyaay still reside in the area. National City gets its name from the Mexican Government’s name of the land patent, “Rancho de la Nacion”, after Mexico won its independence from Spain. Present day National City still shows many signs of its Hispanic heritage.

National City has slightly higher temperatures than are typical to most cities in San Diego County but is often characterized as a mild temperature year round, rarely getting extensively hot or cold. With a population of around 60,000 residents, National City is a large community that continues to grow as people migrate to San Diego for its beautiful weather and city life. National City is just a short drive from Downtown San Diego and mere minutes to the Mexican border making it easy for residents to travel back and forth to visit family, go on vacation, or spend the day eating delicious, authentic food and sight- seeing.

As a community, National City is currently focusing on increasing its tourism appeal to be better aligned with other San Diego cities. There are plans in motion to institute more hotels, shopping, and dining in the near future. National City offers great convenience and a variety of shopping opportunities with Plaza Bonita, a beautifully designed Westfield shopping mall and the infamous National City Factory Outlets which are a big draw for those who like to shop the best brands. National City offers San Diego locals many authentic, local dining experiences, including the historical restaurant, Café La Maze, that are unique to the Mexican culture present in the city. For those interested in architecture and art, National City’s historical Brick Row, is a set of homes designed for railroad VIP’s to make them feel at home. This set of ten homes mimics old east-coast, cosmopolitan architecture that cannot be seen anywhere else in San Diego and is extremely rare anywhere on the West Coast.

Living in National City can be an inspiring experience that makes you see San Diego culture in a whole new light. If you’re feeling inspired by the city and want to infuse the Hispanic influences or east-coast cosmopolitan sophistication into your home, a kitchen or bathroom remodel may be a great way to do it.
